New CG Two-Stage "Universal" Match Trigger
A new, two-stage CG Universal Match Trigger is in production. It will be available from Jackson Rifles in Europe and Tom Myers in the USA. The trigger’s final stage pull-weight adjusts from 10 ounces to over 63 ounces, and both a curved or straight trigger finger is offered. Notably, this new design works with a very wide range of actions, both custom and factory. In addition to a Remington 700 version, for example, there are versions for Barnard, Mauser, RPA, SAKO, Tikka, and Winchester Model 70 actions. That makes this CG Trigger one of the most versatile match triggers ever offered.
German Salazar of ShootersJournal.com has one of the new CG Triggers, and he plans to field test and review the product for us very soon.
The CG Universal Trigger uses a variety of upper frames to fit each specific rifle action. The upper frame contains the final lever(s) of the trigger. A universal main housing is attached to this upper frame. This ensures similar function, settings and “feel”, whatever action the trigger is fitted to. The CG Universal is a true two-stage trigger, so that (unlike modified direct-pull triggers fitted to some “tactical” rifles), the sear engagement reduces and fully recovers with the first-pull movement of the trigger finger. The CG Universal trigger system was designed by Robert Chombart, who also designed the CG MILLENNIUM, CG INCH and other target rifle actions.
The CG Universal Trigger System works with numerous rifle actions including:
ANSCHUTZ BARNARD CG INCH CG MILLENNIUM MAUSER 98 MUSGRAVE PARAMOUNT PARKER-HALE M85, L81A2 REMINGTON 700 RPA 2000 RPA QUADLITE RPA QUADLOCK |
SAKO 75 SAKO FINNFIRE SAKO TRG SPRINGFIELD SWING TIKKA 5xx/6xx TIKKA T3* US 1917 – P14 WEATHERBY MK V WINCHESTER M70 |
I wonder if it is the same size a standard Rem. or Jewell.
It looks taller. Would it be a simple trigger swap or would you have to refit the stock to get the trigger position correct?
Lucho
Lucho,
Thank you for your interest in our CG Universal two-stage match triggers.
Our CG Rem 700 trigger is somewhat wider and longer than the factory trigger. Some minor stock work is required, and some metal has to be removed from BDL-style and Badger Ordnance DBM trigger guards. We do strongly recommend that the trigger should be fitted by a gunsmith or armourer who would most easily do this work on a milling machine.
I would also like to point out that the above list of actions includes some of those to which the CG Uni trigger CAN be fitted. Not all of those models are yet in production in Scotland or in the USA. A current product data sheet and manuals for all models currently in production can be downloaded from our website.
Best regards,
Peter Jackson.
I have a “golden eagle” rifle built in the 1970’s and early 80’s by Nikko. I am looking for a trigger that is compatible with this gun or someone who would build one for it. It is great gun except for the horrid trigger.
What Anschutz actions are the triggers available for?
Is this trigger assembly furnished with a bolt stop?
My email: grbuss@yahoo.com
I had some trouble getting this out.
In case you get this – I’m wondering if your trigger assembly is equipped with a bolt stop.
Let me know!
Greg
I just have to say, this is the best trigger I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried most of the high-end triggers out there. I love the smooth draw and crisp break this trigger offers – it’s truly in a class by itself. I’ve had all my buddies try out the Tikka Tactical this trigger is on and I tell them, “Be sure to dry fire it a couple times as the trigger is a 2-stage and takes some getting use to.” I always smile at this point, because they inevitably look up at me dumbfounded upon firing it and ask, “Who makes this trigger?”,… “It’s CG Jackson Match Trigger” I tell them, and they say, “Wow! That’s a really nice trigger!” Keep up the great work!
