Milled T-6 Aluminum 40mm Salt & Pepper Shakers
The Xmas holiday buying season is right around the corner. If you’re looking for an unusual gift for a firearms enthusiast or military veteran, check out the 40mm Grenade Salt & Pepper shakers from GG&G. Available with either silver or gold anodized top sections, these measure 4″ tall by 1 5/8″ in diameter. GG&G’s matched salt and pepper shakers are milled from solid billet 6061 T-6 aluminum, and closely replicate the dimensions of the original 40mm grenade. The tip of the projectiles are engraved with “S” or “P” to easily identify the contents. The top halves (gold or silver sections) unscrew for easy filling. Cost for either gold (GGG-1315) or silver (GGG-1316) versions is $45.00. These would also be a great “conversation pieces” for your Thanksgiving family get-together.

Hi!
Do you sell these international??
From http://www.knowthelies.com/node/2108 Aluminum is particularly poisonous to the nervous system with a range of symptoms that can include disturbed sleep, nervousness, emotional instability, memory loss, headaches, and impaired intellect. Aluminum toxicity can also result in aching muscles, speech problems, anemia, digestive problems, lowered liver function, colic and impaired kidney function.
EDITOR: Umm, and how many Sodas, Juices, and Beers have you consumed from ALUMINUM Cans in your lifetime. And how many canteen and water containers are made out of aluminum? Think about it…. If this was really an issue, why would there be zillion-dollar soft drink and beer industries using mostly aluminum packaging. No, I do not encourage direct intake of powdered aluminum — but be realistic here.
You could come up with a similar toxicity list, I’m sure, for Salt. But last time I checked, a certain amount of salt was required for human survival.
Cans are painted with shellac on the inside and are “one use and discard”. Salt is abrasive and to shake an abrasive over and over in an aluminum shaker would remove any coating applied if any coating is applied in the 1st place. My canteen is plastic. I work in the firearms industry and we are air sample monitored for aluminum intake so it is a serious issue for me. I dont make light of anything the govt deems a worthy cause to test and monitor for. Do what you want, I just put this out as a “food for thought” issue.
Editor: Benny, you raise some good points. I would just add that there is a lot of aluminum used for cooking gear in the outdoor industry, as well as for coffee pots, expresso makers, etc. There is some concern with aluminum intake when uncoated aluminum vessels are used with acidic substances: http://www.ehow.com/list_7655852_health-risks-aluminum-coffee-makers.html
