Smith & Wesson Will Sell Off Thompson/Center Arms Business
Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWBI) plans to divest (sell off) its Thompson/Center Arms (T/C) brand. This T/C divestiture as part of a “broader strategic plan” by Smith & Wesson to focus on its core S&W brands. So soon Thompson/Center rifles, muzzleloaders, and single-shot pistols will no longer be produced by Smith and Wesson. Accordingly, if you’ve been thinking about getting a T/C gun, now may be a good time to buy. We predict inventories will be sold off at discounted prices. NOTE: S&W remains committed to providing customer service to current T/C gun owners.
Smith & Wesson President/CEO Mark Smith declared: “Thompson/Center is a beloved hunting brand with a longstanding heritage, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Thompson/Center Arms’ loyal consumers should rest assured that they will continue to receive the world-class firearms, accessories, and customer service support that the brand has been known for since its founding in 1965. We remain fully committed to the hunting and long-range shooting market, and with this divestiture we will be able to now focus on these categories under our iconic Smith & Wesson brand. Additionally, this will allow us to immediately redirect manufacturing capacity to increase overall production volumes, allowing us to gain additional market share[.]”
No Buyer Currently for Thompson/Center Arms
At this time, a buyer for the Thompson/Center Arms brand has not been identified. However, the divestiture is not expected to have a material financial impact on S&W’s first quarter fiscal year 2022 results. S&W expects the divestiture “to be accretive to the Company’s full year fiscal 2022 through higher overall production levels, increased margins, and lower marketing costs”. The Company states that this decision will NOT result in a workforce reduction as it will “repurpose capacity immediately” to other areas.
Thompson/Center Arms — Types of Firearms Currently Produced
Thompson/Center Arms produces a wide range of firearms including bolt-action rifles, semi-auto rimfire rifles, muzzle-loaders, plus T/C Encore rifles and pistols. Expect all these firearms to be discounted heavily in the months ahead. CLICK HERE to see the full line-up of T/C firearms at TCArms.com.

It would be really nice if guys would still sell parts for the tc seeing how u bought them out
Will you still be honoring the warranty’s on Thompson center guns?
are replacement parts available
TC Triumph bone collector
REPLACEMENT TRIGGER GUARD
Sure would be nice if you would still sell the barrels! That was the whole purpose of buying the gun ! What about parts ? Pretty sad you did this seeing how many people have this particular gun! Plus just cutting people off was not nice either
Smith and Wesson warranty was horrible. I’m glad they won’t be making Thompson Center products anymore. I love the Encore and Contender platforms. I just hope a more responsible company will take over the production line
Smith and Wession left people out in the cold. You can’t hardly find any repacement part. Your muzzleloader will be collecting dust. Some people won’t be able to use them. Example: Try buying a speed breech plug for pro hunter xt endeavor. Never will I have anything to do with Smith and Wesson.
Are t/c rifle barrels still in production? Will we be able to purchase barrels in the near future or is this platform dead and stinkin ?
looking for opriginal g2 trigger housing or someone to repair the wings otherwise i have a222 bscoped barrel and a 22 scoped barrel for sale many new paerts in gun but inop without trigger housing shouder holster included $500
Smith and Wesson stated that they won’t warranty TC 22 Classic unless I provide original receipt. I bought the rifle new at least 10 years ago and don’t have it anymore. They told me I was SOL. Thanks Smith and Wesson. You lost another customer.
Smith & Wesson has told me to pound salt. A part within my Encore broke and they can not or will not sell me the replacement part. Thanks Smith and Wesson for nothing.
Well it looks like s&w left a lot of us high and dry. For the life of me I can’t see how keeping the Thompson brand going wouldn’t be profitable? I own too many guns. That’s probably true. I buy new ones all the time. I have several pro hunter barrels. The faithful customers of t/c got the shaft here. Smith and Wesson will NEVER get any of my business again. As a matter of fact – every chance I get I’m gonna get on my “soap-box” and spread the word about how shitty s&w is and how little they care about their customers.
