Trijicon's Subtle Christian Messages
Here’s a little-known bit of information about Trijicon optics. Did you know that, for many years, Michigan-based Trijicon Inc. has discretely placed references to Bible passages on Trijicon optics products? Look carefully at the codes on the side of Trijicon optics and you’ll note Biblical references “hidden in plain sight” next to manufacturer product numbers.
ACOG Scope — ACOG4X32JN8:12
John 8:12 — “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'”
RMR Red-dot — RM01 2PE1:19
2 Peter 1:19 — “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts[.]”
There are discrete Scriptural references such as these on every optics product Trijicon sells. It’s an interesting feature, we bet few of you knew about… until now.
hmmm, something I’ll defintely keep in mind before my next optics purchase. I never did like the look of their “light window” on top of the scope….now it don’t look quite so bad……
I always consider whether my optics are manufactured by Christians or heathens. Christians have a much better track record when it comes understanding and promoting the quality scientific research necessary to give us an edge on the battlefield than companies run by atheists.
Oh those poor Islamic Terrorists Smitten by the Word of OUR LORD
ROTFLMAO
Meh. Make mine Aimpoint or Eotech.
Nice to know, but if the ACLU gets wind of it they will no doubt sue to have it removed from the ACOG’s lest any of our soldiers (my son included) be subjected to their heavy-handed proselytizing ;-(
I am a Christian and believe, from the bottom of my Heart, that anyone who has the ability to Conceptualize, Manufacture and Market any product has the right to place any information on their product, openly or codified (as this appears to be) that reflects their business model and philosophy. Its Ironic that the scriptures quoted actually confers an inferred blessing on the user, that they may see the enemy! Thats the whole point! You have to see’em before you can vanquish them. May the LORD BLESS our troups. Remember, GOD exists and HE is NOT an AMERICAN. HIS existence is not dependent on Your belief! We exist, as a Nation, by HIS GRACE. Without that Divine Providence, written about as far back as George Washington, WE are nothing!
PS The enemy is as much Spiritual as well as physical.
The Almighty may not be an American but there is no way he does not hold a special place in his heart for the American People (especialy those in uniform)who have sacrificed plenty for others over the years. Too bad many of the Muslims don’t revere Jesus as they do their other prophets
Give me a break.
Nothing breeds hatred and intolerance like preaching religeon… especially amongst those with different spiritual beliefs.
I am glad that the Bible references are there. If these people were right with Jesus, they wouldn’t see the need to drive airplanes into buildings and saw the heads off tourists!!!! If only they would write Bible verses or put pictures of Jesus on my ammunition! We need to do our part (along with Israel). Thank God for Trijicon, and may we prevail in this epic battle!
Does anyone know an AR manufacturer that makes rifles with Bible versus? I want to have my bases covered next time I rotate back to the ‘stan. I figure it’s kinda like praying: the harder you pray, then more likely god will intervene and protect me on the battlefield. When I roll outside the wire I want to make sure I’ve got as much Jesus flair as possible so he notices me and not the guy next to me. Now that I think of it, does Paraclete Armor put Bible versus on their armor products too?
Brandon, Jesus knows the number of hairs on your head, godspeed my friend…
I carried one for several months on my weapon in iraq. Wish I had known then it would have made me smile when I used the optics! glad to hear a company still has the guts to do this. Im behind them 110% KV
Too right Ryan – I spent two and a half years on deployments in Iraq and watching Christian and Muslim fundamentalists on both ends of the range playing their tired and stupid games. ‘My god is better than yours and he’s on my side, not yours.. infidel/haji/unbeliever’. Fundamentalists on both sides have turned these conflicts from dirty wars into filthy ones. Still, if war was a business that only attracted professionals on either side, I guess they’d be over pretty fast. Can’t have that now, can we? What would God think??
And by the way, Kevin K, the Shiá muslims do revere Jesus as a prophet. Some of those [muslims] who had saved my infidel bacon at various times during my time there, celebrated Christmas with us — and made us feel a little less far from home.
That is a cool bit of info thanks. somebody should take a big clean breath of fresh air calm down and check their spelling.
Tom, I think it’s about time that secular or moderate religionists in these conflicts decided to stop being calm and silent and pile into the religious fanatics on both sides for the way they conduct themselves. Innocents on both sides are dead because of them. They are an inflammatory, ignorant, unhelpful and unwelcomed presence in any zone of conflict. They are the reason why these wars continue.
I’ve sat back and let it pass too many times and figured it was all fortunes of war. From now on, fundamentalists, or anyone who talks about God being on their side, regardless of whether they are Christian, Muslim or Jewish can look forward to getting a richly deserved blowtorching from me when they pipe up.
Good on trijicon, if that’s what floats their boat. At least they’re not screaming it from the rooftops or advocating faith-based violence.
Thanks for pointing that out. I have been thinking of buying a Trijicon product but now I can remove them from my shopping list.
Even if you believe in fairytales there’s no need for anything like this.
Glad you are here Justin, but extrapolate and make the religions disappear.
How would the world change. Do it in any order.
By the way I worked for a Serbian Muslim for about 3 years, thought He was a great guy until.
One of the few people in my life who treated us like I was a bug as time went on. Never had any one demean us as much as he did. The tougher business was the worst he treated people.
And I am not talking about bastards.
I never consider myself better than any one, Just different. What does better mean I do not know.
Justin I said with the same reverence, I am not sure they do at least with my experience.
Ryan pick a bone.
Take Care
Adios All
Humanity has committed horrendous crimes agaist itself, in the name of God and various false gods over the centuries. That is not GODS fault. We do not live in a perfect world, however, I am thankful I live in a FREE Nation. I am also thankful for each one of our Servicemen and Women. I did my part 40+ years ago. The torch is passed on to the following generations. I have experienced the fact that GOD is still there and he knows each hair on every head. We are a Blessed Nation.
Trijicon is merely a maker of tools to help in a constant struggle between opposing forces (Isaiah 54:16). The Battle is far greater than what we see. It has gone on since before time and it will continue until GOD ends it. Until then there will be constant conflict, in one form or another, somewhere in the world. It will have many faces, but the root is the same.
Being blind does not necessarily mean you have lost the facility of eyesight. The Mature Believer merely has the advantage of a different perspective I’ll call Spiritual Depth Perception. I like to think that this maturity is reflected in the TRIJICON product markings.
Well, I for one am glad Trijicon has the stones to put good Bible verses on these scopes … it helps out our Christian Servicemen in their Crusade against the Muslims!
Good thing you have to be a Christian to serve in our Army.
OK, so I lied. I consider the entire thing to be totally inappropriate. These scopes were made UNDER CONTRACT for the US Military – they should be completely secular. There is no place for prostlytising on US Military equipment – in fact, it could be argued that they are violating General Order #1 in Iraq and A-stan.
Fortunately, I know that I won’t be in any trouble over the verse on my ACOG – 15 minutes with a pointed diamond burr on my Foredom rotary tool took it right off.
Or maybe the jihadist will notice and shoot you first?
You call 5 or 6 letters and numbers preaching?
Our forefathers sacrificed to provide us Freedom of religion, not Freedom FROM religion.
Good for Trijicon. I just checked my Accupoint 3-9 scope that is laying next to me: Rev 21:23
“And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
Justin, You seem to have a misunderstanding of fundamental Christianity, which is based on the teachings of the New Testament. Never have I heard a fundamentalist calling for killing of Muslims. I challenge you to quote one example of this from any leading fundamentalist or Biblical Christian College. Look at the United States which is a Christian nation and allows freedom of religion. In most Muslim countries, you can’t even hold Christian services, much less try to communicate the Gospel. True Christianity is based on a change in the heart by a work of God. Forced conversion is an abomination to any real Christian.
Well I have, Jim. By serving soldiers in Iraq, who seemed to be able to twist the bible’s teachings – particularly the old testament to justify a pretty sick and perverted view, much in the same way the Islamist extremists, (such as Qaeda)do. And the constant dehumanisation of the populace e.g. ‘f*ck em’, they’re only hajis’ was a line I heard on pretty much a daily basis, which is just plain old uneducated, unacceptable bigotry in any professional military formation. Combine that with the plethora of biblical references and talk of çrusades’ ánd you had some guys there who were no better than the enemy. If we hold ourselves out as being better than those we’re fighting, then we’d better not stoop to the level of their worst, or allow others to.
Both the Qu’ran and the Bible call for religious tolerance and deplore the murder of innocents but there are plenty of people on both sides of the line who seem to be able to selectively ignore or twist what they choose to suit their purpose. Your comment about the prevention of christian religious services in some places is an accurate one. Mosques and Synagogues also get burnt down in other places. All of these things are perpetrated by individuals who have the unbelievable arrogance to believe that they are somehow more favoured in god’s eyes than others who think god wears different coloured pyjamas, or something.
If you are tolerant of other religions, and allow their practice, then you are a better person than any Muslim, Christian or Jew who isn’t. I’m not focused on any one faith here, I’m focused on the minority that exists in all of them, the pack of nauseating cockroaches that they are. If you as an individual don’t allow them to skate on that sort of conduct, then good on you.
Thanks to TRIJICON for standing strong on their faith!!
God Bless America!!!
I will look to them for my next scope.
Tommy
Apparently no one noticed the references shown were to allow one to see the light in the darkness. How ironic, isn’t that what their optic devices are about, seeing better in low light conditions! Some of y’all have pretty thin skin.
Thanks Jim for comments, no one can give examples to your Questions, the main stream media would be pounding this down our throat every day, I cant believe the rabid response to this. I wonder if some of you guys are crawling under your cars to see if some auto worker might have scratched a verse into car frame so you can grind it off. What if some plumber wrote one on a stud in your house and now its under your sheet rock!
No kidding!!! Tho I don’t think I’d would be to happy with jewish or muslim verses on my car or my equipment. It’s bad enough that my tv so offensively proclaims its made in japan. Arent’ they muslims to? I’d have to file that stuff off otherwise jesus might think I’m not a good christian and true believer. Only the true faith should be promoted and that means jesus the american warrior!
I am amazed at how superstitious most of the responses are. Do most of you really believe having a bible verse on your scope is going to make it work better? Why don’t you just take your scope down to the local witch doctor so he can cast a spell on it. I know you believe that god can be summoned to do your bidding with the right incantations but still…
an interesting aside…trijicon is a big government contractor obviously. so there are troops overseas popping [insurgents] with firearms aimed with optics that have references to bible verses engraved on the side.
ABC news is reporting on this. Making look like Christian guns are killing Muslims.
We may be able to buy a bunch of surplus ACOGs very soon. Just watch how this gets twisted against the U.S.
Matthew 5:9?
James 3:18?
Matthew 5:21?
Trijicon just does not understand Christianity. Putting Bible quotes on weapons is sacrilege, pure and simple. No true Christian would so bastardize the message of Christ.
Edited] This is an idiotic stunt by Trijicon. They will not be on my list of companies to buy optics for my rifle, ever again.
/gun-toting atheist
What a bunch of nuts.
Last time I checked, they [radical muslims] attacked US FIRST. Damn straight this is a Christian/Muslim war. [Edited for offensive language].
I’m OK with it, provided I get a price break on the product.
Like Dr. Bronner selling his soap cheap, and covering the container with his religious insanity.
>Just watch how this gets twisted against the U.S.
Yeah, Thanks a lot Trijicon.
ACLU or not this is totally inappropriate. this company had no business leaving these marks and the military had no business accepting the equipment. I have worked in recieving inspection for the military and for def contrcrors and there is simply no way this was not known and accepted by the Marine Corps. There was a time when refunds would have been demanded and heads woud have rolled. If it was not in the mil specification and contract for this equiment then it simply doesn’t belong. That is before getting to the separation of church and state question, or the question of whether these weapons should be used in muslim countries.
Outright stupidity.
Just curious – in an earlier post, I pointed out an obvious religious troll, and my post got edited; furthermore, someone replied to me in agreement, and their post was outright deleted; is this censorship a generally accepted practice at this website? If so, I’ll not waste my time here arguing with a bunch of closed-minded [people]. If you’d rather discuss this egregious disregard for military regulations by Trijicon, on a forum that isn’t so strictly controlled, check out the thread at fark dot com.
EDITOR: Posts that contain foul language, insulting language, or racial/ethnic/religious insults will be deleted.
Let me start by pointing out that since I am not superstitious I find myself mildly amused at the controversy over some meaningless passages from a work of fiction (just like the koran) cross or a rabbits foot its all the same. Ludicrous just plain ludicrous.
Can you request a particular verse to be added?
I think the most christian and wholey appropriate verse would be
Matthew 5:39
Well, either that or Numbers 31:17
True Christians would want either of those verses.
If someone is not familiar with the bible, they would not even think twice about a serial number on ANYTHING? What does it matter to non-Christians?…either you know the truth or you don’t. If you don’t know the bible as truth, how would you even know what a scripture looks like? AND, why on Earth, would you care if something that you don’t believe in is written on anything…it is just foolisness to you, right? If someone receiving a bullet even get’s to see what is written on that bullet, do you think, if they were muslim, or any other religion, they would care what the cerial number was? Why can’t non-Christians just leave Christians alone, just like they have left every other religion alone?? If it’s foolishness to you…JUST LET US BE FOOLISH!! The truth will manifest itself eventually…with or without you!!
I’m about to answer my own questions…”For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” Ephesians 6:12
Some of you seem to be denying that there is Truth. Trijicon is spreading the word of the Truth through an available means to them. Trijicon, keep up the good work. Semper Fi, Dirk
We’re fighting a war against religiously motivated extremists, the ultimate success of which will be primarily determined by the kind of support we get from Islamic locals over there who are already kinda touchy about faith issues to begin with. It can only harm the efforts of our troops when every Muslim who sees one of our rifles (or is issued one) knows the scope guiding those bullets to kill fellow Muslims has Bible references talking about Christianity’s “guiding light.” People who want to mock the idea of understanding Muslim sensibilities should really think about that one. It’s not about being PC. It’s about smart strategy. PR matters a whole lot over there, especially with our Special Ops guys out in the tribal areas trying to forge alliances with local leaders.
God forbid anyone gets a little hope. I am sure they don’t want your godless money anyway.
Freedom of religion means freedom from religion!
If I am allowed to choose what form of religion to believe in (or not), then surely I can choose to not believe any of them. I could also make up my own religion based on what i think myself to be true (this is probably how all religions started anyway).
Personally it wouldnt bother me that this code is present, but i can see how it may seem offensive to someone from a non-christian religion if they were forced to use these devices. To me it is all nonsense anyway, might as well be a product code number.
Freedom. Define the word. Name the many freedoms afforded us as human beings. Then, name the freedoms others have had denied them throughout recorded history. For which freedoms has the US fought and died? For which freedoms did the Nazis fight and die? Currently, for which freedoms have al-Quaida and the Taliban fought and died? After all is said and done, is Freedom worth the fight?
What if it’s really just a date code or a revision number?
