SHOT Show Report: GS Custom Bullets from South Africa
GS Custom Bullets has been producing high-quality hunting and target bullets in South Africa since 1993. GS Custom Bullets specializes in monometal solids. For hunters, the GS solids have proven extremely effective on game animals, including the biggest species on the African continent. The GS match bullets are CNC-machined to very exacting tolerances, offering superior concentricity and uniformity. The large match bullets feature drive bands for reduced engraving force, and an extremely slippery shape for exceptionally high ballistic coefficients. GS has made a special 1,100-grain 50-caliber projectile that has a calculated G1 BC of 1.85! This bullet, launched at 3400 fps, can stay supersonic out to 4,000 meters — that’s 2.49 miles!
Gerard Schultz, founder of GS Custom Bullets, holds a number of patents on his bullet designs. Currently GS Custom is selling to the American market through its South African website, GSCustom.co.ZA. However, this year GS Custom hopes to expand production to North America, starting a production facility in the USA. The North American effort will be lead by Gerard Schultz’s daughter, Gina, and her husband Anthony. They can be contacted through GSCustomUSA.com. We met with Gina and Anthony at SHOT Show in Las Vegas and learned more about these remarkable bullet designs. The video is worth watching. These are no ordinary bullets.

Hi! Does the barrel need any modification (throat, jump, twist, bore diameter, etc.)to use these bullets efectively and accurately?
I’d like to see the load that pushes a 1,100 gr. bullet 3400fps. Also, what action/barrel.
The anzio 20/50 (20mm vulcan necked to 50 caliber) is what cartridge is used. 600 grains of wc872 is the maximum load. The rifle without optics weighs 65 lbs, and pricing in single shot configuration(mag fed also available) and 45″ barrel is 7800 dollars.

Anzio has a 50 that is a necked down 20 MM Vulcan. That’s got to be what is pushing 1100 gr. 3400 fps. Try http://www.anzioironworks.com
The rifles about 6.5feet long.
Yes, it is Mike Anzio’s 20/50 that he has been pushing the limits with. He claims he can possibly reach 3,600fps, but we will see. It also requires a 1:11 twist. We also make an 1033 grain BMG (ment for slower speeds) that is 1.75 B.C. (1:12 twist), a 975 grain 1.55 B.C.(1:13 twist), a 800 grain 1.17 B.C. and a 720 and 790HV (High Velocity Hollow Point), and all 3 work in a standard 1:15 twist. We are a custom bullet company, so we make bullets to mach the rifle, or whatever is required, but our bullets do no require special configurations. The longer, higher B.C. bullets will need a faster twist, but nothing more then that.
I hope to get everything together so that I can go to SouthAfrica this year. Would like to visit Krugerpark and also dive in a cage and see A great white shark of the coast.
